FLOWERS

Paiement completed his earliest flower drawings in his post - "Entropy" phase as a tribute to soldiers and others at risk in and because of conflicts. The early pieces make heavy use of the same wire, scraps of metal, newsprint and material as the Soldier Series and though the subject is the "fragile flower" the paintings seem almost brutal in execution. He slowly moved away from this conflict / life subject but continues to use the "idea" of a flower in his work, searching for form, color, structure and beauty.
